I am pleased to inform you that the Harvard School of Engineering and Applie
d Sciences (SEAS) has recommended to the Harvard Graduate School of Arts and
Sciences (GSAS) that you be admitted into our Ph.D. program. Congratulation
s! Approval by GSAS is routine and you will receive formal notification of y
our admission in early March. Information from SEAS with more details will 
be mailed to you in the near future.

We are offering you full financial support including tuition, health insuran
ce, and a stipend. We are still determining what our stipend level will be;
last year it was $28,500 over 12 months. Funding will be through a SEAS Fe
llowship in your first year, through a combination of SEAS and your research
advisor in your second year, and through your research advisor in subsequen
t years.
